Repairs & Maintenance

Our highly skilled and trained team, with our specialist equipment, can undertake the most complex  instrument repairs or design requests. It is very important that your instrument is serviced regularly to keep it in optimal condition enabling you to perform and practice without frustration and avoidable issues. Based on our years of experience, we strongly recommend that a service is undertaken every 12 to 18 months at a minimum.

If your instrument requires service or repair, please call us in advance to arrange a convenient drop off time to avoid any disappointment, especially if you will be traveling a long distance.

If you do not want to travel or you are an international customer, we can arrange a postal or courier service for your convenience.

We also hand manufacture parts that are no longer available.

Woodwind:

Mini Service:

  • Pads checked for leaks
  • Pad realignment and re-seating

Full Service includes:

  • Dismantle, body clean, key work polish and removal of old oil from mechanism and screws
  • Replace key corks if required
  • Replace tenon corks if required (extra cost)
  • Replace pads if required (extra cost)
  • Reseat pads
  • Reassemble
  • Adjust vent heights as required
  • Adjust spring tensions as required
  • Lubricate
  • Regulate instrument to playing order
  • Full test

Full Overhaul includes:

  • Dismantle, body clean, key work polish and removal of old oil from mechanism and screws
  • Assess tone hole level and resurface
  • Remove accessible dents
  • Replace tenon corks
  • Replace key corks
  • Replace key felts
  • Replace pads
  • Adjust vent heights as required
  • Adjust spring tensions as required
  • Reassemble
  • Lubricate
  • Regulate instrument to playing order
  • Full test

Brass:

Mini Service:

  • Check valve alignment
  • Check valves and slides for correct movement
  • Lubricate as required

Full Service includes:

  • Dismantle and de-grease
  • Internal clean (body, slides and valves)
  • Lap in and clean valves and casings
  • Descale slides andvalves as required
  • Polish slide legs
  • Remove accessible dents
  • Replace valve springs and guides as required
  • Change bumper felts
  • Lubricate valves
  • Grease slides
  • Replace water key corks and springs as required
  • Regulate instrument to playing order
  • Full test

Additional services include:

  • All dent work, stuck slides and valves or mouthpiece removal will be quoted for after individual assessment.
